Mulch Text Effect

Introduction:

In this tutorial, we are going to go through the step-by-step process for making a mulch type text effect. This is a unique text effect that uses a nice bumpy texture. Great for web design and graphic design projects.

Step-By-Step:

1. Open Photoshop and choose a document size big enough to type your text.
2. Select the Type Tool and type out what you want to say.

3. Open the layer properties/blending options for the text layer.
4. Change the "Outer Glow" properties to the following:

5. Change the "Bevel and Emboss" properties to the following:

6. Change the "Texture" properties to the following:

7. Change the "Cover Overlay" properties to the following:

8. Right click the Text layer from the layers palette and choose "Rasterize Layer".

9. Select the Brush Tool and paint along the letters in a sporatic fashion to make it less straight and uniform.

10. When you are done you should have your Mulch Text effect!
